I would like to filter posts containing a given word, say "mecha" either in the subject OR in the filename. Is it possible ?

Yes, just put "mecha" (without the quotes) as the reject string in the subject and filename filter sections of the filters menu. If either match, the post fill be filtered.

Thank you, but I asked the wrong question: I would like to ACCEPT the posts whose name OR subject contains "mecha". Is there an AND or an OR clause between the Filename and the Subject Filters ?

It is automatically an AND between Subject and Filename filters. If it is in the subject first AND in the filename second, then accept it.
