"New type" of NZB's not unpacking correctly

Postby astrax » Sun Sep 01, 2024 4:10 am

So, a board I use to visit frequently introduced a different way of posting their NZB's: usually they were passworded and scrambled/obfuscated across different RAR's and to be assembled once downloaded.
Now they switched to not having a password and big files (videos for example) are not split/compressed into multiple RAR's anymore, therefore resulting in faster unpacking or whatever...

I usually load those NZBs through a watch folder (having different ones, extract on different folders for convenience) or via double clicking. While this still works for those files which are just one big file (see above), RAR'ed posts (like a music album), with multiple files in it never correctly get extracted anymore.

I don't know if I described the problem good enough. But I could send you some random example NZB's for testing.

Thanks!

(still using V6.90 Build 5524)

I'd use 6.91. Maybe RC1. Most of the later changes in Newsbin are to handle these odd NZB's. NZB's work best when fed directly to the download list too. Not first to the post list, then the download list.

You can email some of these NZB's to our tech support email if you want me to try them.
