6.90RC3 Recursive unzip toggle location

Postby chroma601 » Thu Aug 18, 2022 5:05 pm

Hi, I am not finding the switch to turn off recursive unRAR so the program doesn't unzip files embedded in the RARs. I see in the help file the suggestion to set an entry in the registry, but the registry is huge and a search for Newsbin didn't find any AutoRAR=0 type of setting. Ultimately, I'd like the program to unRAR the main files but leave embedded zips alone. Please advise.

[AutoRAR]
RecursiveUnRAR=0/1 0 to disable.

I believe you have to hand edit the NBI and add this to it. You can do it with Wordpad. You'll have to exit Newsbin first.

I just found the need for unrecursive unRARing, but I don't appear to have any NBI files in the Program files location. Where might it be?

In Newsbin, in the settings select "Open Data Folder" that should take you to where the NBI is. I'd make a backup copy before you edit the file.

You have to exit Newsbin before editing it too.
