Filenames with Copy(x) never get deleted.

I always have many files left over after downloading that look like

"Copy(3) of FileThatYouDownloaded.rar"
"Copy(4) of FileThatYouDownloaded.rar"
"Copy(5) of FileThatYouDownloaded.rar"
...

Why does this happen? I would think the signature file would see it's exactly the same file and skip it.

How can I automatically get rid of these?

Happens quite often.

Even if i use a autopar reject filter the copy's stay there if it can't unrar ok.

What version are you using?

Once a files becomes a "Copy" Newsbin won't touch it again, it only processes unrenamed files. So the question is why you're getting "Copy" files. It implies the same files are being downloaded over and over or that you're downloading from sets that all use common names. Which some groups do use.

I'm using the latest Beta copy (Just installed it saturday.)

Why is the same exact file gettng downloaded? I thought there was a signature file that would skip it if it was already downloaded?

If i do an internet search for something often I highlight a swath of files and download them to a folder. I don't spend a lot of time trying to see if there are duplicates in the list because my understanding that there is duplication checking going on.

It suggests they aren't really duplicates. If you're adding a bunch of spam, they might have the same name but different content.

There's actually two levels of duplicate detection.
1 - The traditional one you know about
2 - The second one checks the files on disk and if the content matches the first chunk of the new download, the download is aborted so it's not downloaded twice. Only after this check are the files renamed.

I just tested the duplicate detector, downloaded something then attempted to re-download and it failed almost immediately.
