Search not really working

Seems like all of my searches from January 1, 2019 or so come up empty or without the real files.

This has been going on for a while now; is there something I should be doing to make the searches work?

One thing you might have to do is remove any group filtering so you see files from all groups. "Groups" as selectors don't work like they used to. That said the posting groups did change how they post Jan 1. Dex and I have an improved version of search we're getting ready beta test. It's still a work in progress though.

I have the same problem with ver. 6.81. I've tried playing with all the search filters and nothing helps.

I should clarify my problem. The search finds new posts but only finds .nzb files from the posts which can in turn be used to download the actual files. Newsbin search itself doesn't find the actual files. I don;t know if this is a search issue or all postings changed since Jan 1.

any updates as to when the search feature for 2019 will work again? Its really frustrating that its not working at all. Ugh!

It depends on the type of content you are looking for. Some content is unaffected by the exit of a bunch of posters at the beginning of the year. We do have an internal Alpha version that is able to process some of the new posting formats that was adopted at the beginning of the year. We are working to make it beta worthy now, hopefully only weeks away at this point. There will be an announcement in the forums when we are ready for beta testers.

I have seen a steady decline in the longtime posters very recently, finding content is at an all time low.

It's a shame newsgroups are going by the wayside for the new generation

Hi, just following up on my prior posts. Any update on when the new and improved Search function will be ready so that it captures all post 01/01/19 posts?

Well, it's not capturing all post 01/01/19 posts, that turned out to be an unrealistic expectation. Many of these posts are impossible to decipher unless the original poster shares an NZB file showing how to put them back together. The private posting groups are keeping this to themselves for the most part. Some of the indexers have in's with some posting groups but nobody is 100%. Still, the new and improved search engine does do a better job and we're just about ready to open it up for some beta testing. Possibly early next week.

So did the new search engine ever get implemented? Seems like the same issues as before for me, meaning that its very hard to find results for searches after 01/01/19.
