Drunkenslug downloads both failed and successful?

Postby tacomaguy20 » Sat Dec 08, 2018 5:56 pm

First off, I'm running version 6.81 build 5080. Anytime I download a show from Drunkenslug, Newsbin Pro displays both that the show failed (Error: File retry count exceeded) under the failed files tab and it shows the file downloaded and the path under the files list tab. The files have all downloaded correctly so it is giving a false failure error. This wouldn't be a problem except for the fact that I am using Sonarr to automate some downloads and it doesn't realize the shows from Drunkenslug are completing because of that error. Just wondering if this is a known issue having something to do with the way Drunkenslug obfuscates the files? I've stopped using that indexer as a way to curb the repeated download problem but thought I'd bring it to your attention.

Are these files missing PAR files? I could imagine this happening if you have a PAR set but none of the repair pars are also there. So if you only have one PAR file and none of the repair PAR files, I could see this happening.

You can email me some of these NZB's. You should be able to find them in the NZB's folder in the data folder.

Sorry haven't been back on since when I posted. I'm going to email you some now.

Edit* I tried to PM you but it wouldn't let me attach nzb files. Do I need to email you? If so, what is the best email?

I figured out what's going on. It's not the NZBs themselves. It's the way they're posted. All the par files, and probably all the files are posted with scrambled filenames and no extension so

"some shit to do.vol01-02.par2" in the subject has a filename in the actual posted data of "flek00ds90fed". With no extension and no indication of what kinda file it is. This throws off the par2 checker which then results in Newsbin downloading all the parts up front. Once all the PARS are downloaded, it doesn't take much for Newsbin to give up on the download. What likely happens is that it fails because all the PARS are downloaded while at the same time the repair code goes off and repairs the files and unrars.

The fix is to not depend on the filename to determine the file contents.

Is that a fix you'll have to do which will mean a new beta or is there some setting in Newsbin that can be changed to fix it?

Cheers

It'll have to be a change in Newsbin and a new beta. We were already planning on the first new beta so, this will just get added to it.

Quade, I will send you two other nzb files that never unrar properly in Newsbin and also therefore don't work with Sonarr. They aren't from DS.

Cheers

Are you saying they don't work if they are passed in from Sonarr? I loaded both of these into Newsbin and they both downloaded perfectly for me. Since they are obfuscated you just have to make sure "Download Double-Clicked NZB" is enabled under Options -> Settings -> NZB Options so Newsbin will do a force combine on all the contents of the NZB. I don't see why they shouldn't work coming from Sonarr.

Second check box from the top. It's been renamed for the next beta.

The xpost nzb's never unrar for me.

I mean, nothing has changed between the first report and your new NZB's so if it's the same issue, you'll have to wait for the beta.
