I tried Sonic-News for a few weeks back in May and June of 2011.

My brief notes show only that the service was unreliable with the servers having been frequently down and unavailable, and support slow or unresponsive. But it's been 7 years and things may have changed as it appears that they are still in operation.

Well it was a stretch. I do not want to go there. I do not want another Highwinds provider. I already have a block account whom uses Highwinds as a backbone. There service has actually the gone down over the past few months. You just can't find a reliable news provider in the US.

I would really like to try NL news provider but I really need a World Visa Prepaid Card that works in euros.

Newshosting is highwinds. As far as I can tell they've had no downtime in years. They're the only server I use these days. Occasionally Altopia and Eweka but 99% comes off newhosting.
