Is there a way to retrieve a server password

Postby theGrok » Fri Apr 27, 2018 8:00 pm

Long story short. I've lost the password to my usenet provider and I need to login to my account. It is saved inside newsbin config. Is there a any way for me to retrieve it from newsbin itself? Thanks.

It's purposely obscured to keep people from looking at your NBI file and discovering the server password. You ought to be able to update the password at the news server web site then re-enter it into Newsbin.

my problem is I don't have the password to login to website as I lost it. It is the same as the server password. The only place I have it now is inside Newsbin. I was hoping to be able to retrieve there somehow. I can't do a PW reset as I no longer have access to the email account I used when opening this account. It is a block account from a long time ago.

Your Usenet provider should be able to reset your password for you once you prove you are the account holder.
