Newsbin not visible in Windows 10 Start Menu

When I updated from Win 7 to Win 10, Newsbin was still installed and fucntional. It was listed in the Start menu.

When I installed the most recent version (6.73 build 4821) the update seemed to process normally.

But:

* Newsbin was no longer visible from the Start menu.
* The Cortana search finds the Newsbin directory, but not the executable file.
* Control panel/Programs & Features shows Newsbin as a program it is ready to uninstall.
* I can go to the Newsbin directory, double click on the newbinpro64.exe file and Newsbin runs normally.
* A complete uninstall of Newsbin followed by a fresh install does not fix or change the outcome.

I am hoping someone else has had a similar problem and figured out how to fix the problem.

I'll ask Dex. He's the installer guy. You're installing as your regular user?

Installing from a non-admin account, but running as admin and entering the password.

Newsbin doesn't need you to "run as admin". The installer just needs to jump to admin in order to install to program files and add shortcuts.

None of that explains why the shortcut doesn't show up. I wonder if the issue is that the beta installer isn't the complete installer?

Usually odd issues like this point to a software conflict. Last one was with Malewarebytes. Are you running that or other security software that might be scanning whatever you are installing?

Norton Security Suite is the only security program running. As it has been for a quite a few years, though on previous versions of Windows.

So far you are the only one reporting this so I have to assume it's a local issue unless more people start having the same issue so we can find some commonality.
