NZB files shows zero headers when loaded

I searched and searched for this topic in this forum and didn't find it. What causes an NZB file to appear empty when I open it in NBpro 6.80B5? If I open the NZB in notepad, it looks valid (to my untrained eye). Filters are disabled. This happens with some, but not all NZBs. Some NZBs were downloaded from a newsgroup, others from Usenet Crawler.

You can email some of the bad ones to ts@newsbin.com.

If you look at the logs do you see any errors during load?

No errors or messages of any kind in the log when I load a *zero* NZB. I emailed it just now.

I tested it in the latest beta, B6 and when I loaded it onto a post list the files showed up. How about trying B6?

Just installed B7 and still no posts show when I load the NZB file: <something>.s02e09.hdtv.x264-sva-Obfuscated.nzb

The filters (green button) are disabled. My servers are Newshosting, Astraweb & Tweaknews. No errors logged when I load the NZB. Could there be something in my settings that would filter the posts? Is there something i should check in the settings menu or in the newsbin.nbi file?

Check your Global Filter Profile for something that might be filtering this stuff out. That filter profile applies all the time.

BTW, I edited your post, please don't list what you are downloading publicly.

Thanks for the heads-up. Global Filter is set to 0 KB, 0 KB, 0 and None. No accept or reject criteria, so basically no filtering. I noticed in Newsbin.nbi an entry under [NZB] that said: NZB_ObeyGlobal=1. Changing it to NZB_ObeyGlobal=0 also made no difference. I tried other NZB files; some show posts and some don't.

Where should I look next? Does it matter which servers I use?

If you go into the NZB options you have nothing set for "NZB Loading Filter"?

It's a pretty normal NZB, The the spool_v6 folder in the data you might try deleting the "BASIC_SEARCH" folder.

NZB loading filter is set to: None.

I quit NBp, deleted the "BASIC_SEARCH" folder,started NBp up again, loaded the NZB and still no posts displayed.

Hi everyone - was this ever resolved because I am having the same issue?

I download a nzb from binsearch or nzbgeek and then open it in newsbin pro, nothing shows. I see cache 200/200 (0) at the bottom of the screen, but the nzb tab shows (0).

When I import the nzb to Agent, it shows the headers and I can download them in Agent with no problem, but Agent is far too slow for that. In the past I used to create another nzb in Agent from the imported headers and then open the newly created nzb in newsbin pro and it would work. Today, nothing.

I'm running 6.73 x64 on Win 7 Ultimate SP1 and I deleted all filter profiles I had created plus disabled the spam filters.

Any ideas?

- What happens if you drag and drop the NZB onto the download list?

You might want to try with 6.80RC4. It's getting close to release.

As far as I know where's no issue reading NZB files right now.

Same thing as if I double-clicked an NZB file or dragged it to the download list.

Same results with 6.80RC4.

I'll email the troublesome NZB to the address listed earlier in this thread along with one that works in case you can see a difference. Since this isn't the first time I've seen this behavior, it would be nice to know the root cause in case it is something I can tweak on my end.

Both of the NZB's I got, assuming it's you, loaded fine in 6.80RC4. One was 6.6 gigs and the other was 10.7 gigs.

I'll ask dex to try them.

Yep, that was me and I'm glad I sent the screenshots so you don't think I'm crazy.

I'm not sure if this matters, but I have Newsbin Pro installed on my D: drive vs my C: drive.

Both worked fine for me. Someone had the same problem a few days ago and it turned out he had locked out the poster. Go under Options -> Settings -> Poster Settings and see if the poster Yenc@power-post.org is in there.

Yes it is, we may have an answer here...how do I unblock that poster? I didn't see a way to do that and even tried to right click the poster's name.
