Most downloads wind up as unassembled gibberish files

Postby cthon98 » Sat Jul 29, 2017 8:48 am

So, fairly recently I tried to acquire 5 "current" releases. Like, uploads within the last couple of days.

On average, two out of the five even get to the point of having rar files to assemble. The others remain in... some kind of gibberish files, despite helpfully showing as complete, with no "assemble" or "repair" options.

Is it just a "thing that happens" or is there something wrong with my settings?

Those particular files require autopar to rename the files so, autopar needs to be enabled and at least one PAR downloaded. If Autopar is disabled, they don't get renamed.

I'd probably be using the 6.80 beta too. It's got some non-fatal issues but I know it works on these files.

Autopar is already enabled. Is it just that my version is old, then?

The latest always has the best support for these bizarre new posting formats.

It's possible that everything is downloading fine and the repair is happening but because these random files don't group, the repair happens, the files unrar and these download after the fact. Might just be an issue with cleanup after the unrar.

It's definitely not assembling into end files, just leaving those fragments. They don't even have .rar or .par extensions
