Can't load a NZB file.

Postby jalh » Sun Dec 18, 2016 1:40 am

Hello everyone,

I have been having issues loading NZB files into my newsbin. For examplpe; I would download the nzb file, then I would open it and the client is just there not loading the file, so I then open the client (even as admin) then the file opens up in a tab, but with no files in it.....

The only thing left to do is fresh install the client, but I wanted to share this issue here first, any idea ?

Edit: reading the log this shows up
[23:49:55] HIGH Failed to read complete NZB: C:\Users\REDACTED\testing.nzb

I ended up upgrading to the latest BETA and it loaded the renamed NZB file.

You may close this.

Nice. I like problems that fix themselves.

Apparently the fix wasn't a fix then. Has anything changed with the options or the PC?

Sorry for the late reply, no changes on the computer whatsoever. It doesn't discriminate regardless of filename or size.

Odd problems like this frequently point to a software conflict with your security software. You could test this by temporarily disabling your security software, reboot your machine (required to make sure the security software is really out of the system), then try and recreate the problem. If everything works it means you need to figure out how to configure your security software to ignore Newsbin.

I encounter this issues today again and follow your advise. I closed newsbin, disabled antivirus, open file and newsbin loads up, but nothing on the download tab.

Could also be a bad NZB file. Where did you get the file? Occasionally indexers will hiccup and spit out a bad file. You can send the file to us if you want us to check it out. Send it directly via email to ts at newsbin dot com.

The other possibility is that you have some filter set that is filtering out all the files represented in the NZB.
