Downloads failing with no error message

Hello,

I'm using Newsbin 6.61 build 4309. Downloading headers from Giganews.

I'm downloading headers from a.b.teevee, clicking on a header set (mixed rar/par) to add to my download queue. The download begins, and then gets moved to the failure tab with no error message.

I think - and this is only a guess from a non-techie kinda guy - that the header is showing the post as complete, but it isn't really complete yet. Again, just a guess. I do not know if this is a problem with the header info from giganews, or in the way Newsbin is reading that info, or what.

Any thoughts? This is happening often. Three different posts just in the last few minutes, and several over the course of this week.

Been a number of reports of this though it's not happening to me yet. I'm not sure what's up. I'm looking at it. That's about all I can say right now.

Might want to revert to a version that doesn't do this.

This may or may not help diagnose the problem. Today I had a download fail - in the failed files list there was no error message reported - the field was blank. I d/led the file with bypass filters and found a combination of music files and a small .exe file - ostensibly a utility program. Bad form to provide the exe instead of a link to where it might be found, but the flac files worked fine.

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah Newsbin will kill mostly anything with an EXE file.
