Bogus MaxSpool

Postby wiggins09 » Tue Oct 06, 2015 9:08 am

Using 2 different servers & across numerous different groups I'm seeing a lot of these red msgs today
ERROR Server:xxxxxxxxx Server Reports bogus MaxSpool > MaxGroup Numbers : ######## a.b.abcdefz

I tried hitting pause when some header updates were downloading & the d/l continued - don't think that has happened before. NBP will pause on file-only d/l.
Just updated to 6.61 b4309 & the errors continue.

Any ideas?

If a server renumbers their groups, you have to reset Newsbin to use the new numbers.

This means 1 of 2 things.

1 - The data sent by the server about the group status indicates a bad group.

2 - The servers have re-numbered their groups.

Either way, I'd set a short "Download Age" maybe 5 days. Select the groups, right click and "Post Storage/Use Download Age". Then try again. This should reset the groups and re-download the last 5 days worth of headers.
