CouchPotato and Sonnar use at the same time?

Postby popman » Sat May 02, 2015 10:56 pm

Can NBP be used with couchpotato(bc cant get it to work together) and can nbp be used with couchpotato and sonarr at the same time? also are there any post processing scripts for nbp?

1 - Never tried couch. Once Sonarr is solid I can look into it. Newsbin emulates SAB so, as long as couch can talk to sab it should work. You might need to make sure you're using the latest 6.60B12. You can run two instances of Newsbin too each listening on a unique port. They just each need their own configuration file. So it can be made to work one way or the other.

2 - Sonarr can supposedly tell if an NZB belongs to it or not and not process NZB's that it didn't source. If couch can do that too then I see no reason they couldn't both dump into the same folder and each pick out their own files.

3 - Newsbin should run Sab compatible scripts. It actually supplies more information to a script write than Sab does.

There is no fixed location for Newsbin configuration files. You can find the location for a running Newsbin by using the "Save Configuration As" option from the File menu.

If you want to run with multiple different configurations then the shortcuts used to launch each configuration need to supply the location of the configuration file as a parameter. If omitted then Newsbin always defaults to the last configuration file used. You can also normally manually launch a particular configuration by double-clicking the .nbi file for that configuration.

I don't use any so no. Without being too specific, what are you trying to accomplish? Normally if you use Sonaar, you let it take care of post processing. Moving the files in the script would mess up how Sonarr works.

Like I said, I haven't tried it. So far SickBeard and Sonarr are supported. I have to do it case by case.

Do you see any errors? How about removing the username and password and API key from Newsbin. It'll ignore them if they're not set. Make sure you're using B13. Support for these guys is a moving target till things stabilize.

I got couch working this morning. Working in that it sends NZB's for Newsbin to download. I don't know if all the other functionality works. I'll let you tell me.

I left it waiting for you to test and get back to me. It was working at least to the extent it could feed NZB's to Newsbin. Since I don't run it, I was hoping someone else would test it.

Sweet that's good to hear. I'm pretty sure Sonarr only touches files that it sent to be downloaded.

is two instances of NBP still needed in order to use both couchpotato and sonar at the same time?

Not as far as I know. You tell me. If it's working with a single instance then I'd guess it's no.

yea it seems to work fine...is there a way to not download sample and nfo files? also whenever i download a file, if the file is incomplete it takes forever to drop, is there a way to add the feature to automatically drop a file if it drops before a certain health? (it keeps stalling up my que for a long time)

How many retries do you have set in the options? That gates failures. I typically use 2.

That said I have an action item to build in code to fail files that exceed X percent missing.

i have 2 as well...also it seems every once in a while when i download a series...one or two of the downloaded files appear outside the original folder with their own folders...and am i missing the option or is there not one to be able to assign a different directory per file type? (to keep things better organized)
