Postby grantsmith82 » Sun Jul 26, 2015 8:47 am

HI all
I have 2 pcs the main pc is fine, but my laptop is causing the issue .. therefore I believe it to be an issue with the machine not my ISP or network etc..

when I try to download anything via newsbin (I have tried 2 different servers is subscribe to) I get the following error (I will *** out the server name) I have also tried changing the port also.

[12:42:42] ERROR Error: Unable to Convert Server Name to Internet Address: news.t*****ws.eu Port:443 10109 The specified class was not found.
[12:42:42] ERROR DG - Connection Failed: T******ws Server Index:3 The specified class was not found.

I have tried googling the error but to no resolution.. can anyone help

That's a weird one all right. Off the top of my head, I'm going to assume it's a security software problem because they seem to cause weird issues like this.

Non-authoritative answer:
Name: news.tweaknews.eu
Address: 176.124.71.34

If you use this number "176.124.71.34" instead of "news.tweaknews.eu" what happens?

I'm just guessing this is the server you X'd out. You might want to restart Newsbin after you change to the number.

You r correct that is the server
I will Try with the ip address

It's 100% my machine as I also can't ftp to other devices
Using filezilla I'm at the point of reformatting machine
I can't think what else to try... telnet commands are ok
Just no ftp or usenet downloading

Hi,

have you found what was wrong. I have the same error! Disabled AVG and Malwarebytes, the only software I run that could have anything todo with internet access.

Thanks you
Marc
