Spool_v6

Postby koosr46 » Mon Jul 06, 2015 7:46 pm

I have installed NB660RC3.
Is it possible to minimize the storagedata.db3 in the directory SPOOL_V6
I have downloaded a group with an age of 1 year
later an age of 30 days, but it becomes not smaller
Before installing it was very smaller
Who Can help me

Set the storage age where you want it. Then download headers for all the groups, use the "Update" button. This will delete the old data.

Then when it completes:

1 - select the groups you want to shrink
2 - Right click "Post Storage/Compact Groups".
3 - Wait for it to finish.

Alternatively you can simply delete the spool_v6 folder, set a 30 day "download age" and then Update the groups. It'll only download 30 days worth.

Import is where headers are before they get fed into the group DB3's. You can delete them but you might lose headers.

It's been in there awhile.

You have complete control of how many headers Newsbin downloads and how many it keeps.

"Storage Age" - how many days it keeps.

"Download Age" - how many days it downloads first time it hits a group.

If I were you, I'd probably delete "Import" and "Spool_V6". Set a 30 day "Download Age" then download headers normally.

I'm not really sure what you're asking. If you load the topic. It'll use the download path set in the topic.

You can add the group to the download path by adding $(GROUP) to the download path. If you load a complete topic like "Unsorted" though. That becomes the "group".
