Newsbin suddenly crashes on startup - reinstall didnt help

I have been using newsbin for quite a long time without reinstalling, but suddenly it stopped working, crash on startup ( a small errorbox without any message)
I uninstalled the program with an additional cleanup by a tool and installed the latest 64 bit version. The issue persists, I still get the same crash on startup.
Winwos 7 64 bit just updated to latest version.

Any ideas how to fix that?

What version is it?

I'd use windows search to look for "Downloads.db3" and then delete it. You might have to include "System and Hidden" files in the search.

If you re-install and tell it to wipe all the data files, that should kill it too.

I tryd to install the NB656 64 bit version, after I uninstalled newsbin, the original version was nb631RN. Like I said I uninstalled the program and told to wipe all files, also did a scan with IOBit uninstaller afterwards to get rid of the registry entries.

You can search for and delete any folder named "Newsbin". I don't really know why you'd get crashing on a clean install. Weird things like this often come down to security software stepping on Newsbin.

It didnt change, it is the same with the old and fresh install.

See if the 32 bit version works. They're essentially identical.

Do you have another PC to try it on?

The 32 bit version works indeed with the same installer.
