Download Filters

Beta 8

I have this Filter in my Download Filters:

(\.avi|\.bat|\.com|\.exe|\.flv|\.html?|\.jpe?g\.mpe?g|\.mov|\.pif|\.scr|\.wmv|\.zip)$

It was working in prior Betas and 6.55 and 6/56, but now .exe files are getting through in Beta 8. Maybe something is broke or not hooked up?

Is it a post-unrar filter or a global or local filter. How are you assigning it?

Are you talking about files that have EXE's inside the RAR file?

I have it as a Filter in a separate Category named "Trash" for DownloadFilters=Trash.

No, not EXE's inside RARs. I am seeing files with an .EXE extension in the Subject appear in the Group Listing. I don't want to download them or list them...want to just Filter them out.

What happens if you select this filter manually in the post list?

Yes, Filters are on and this Filter named Trash is listed as Reject If. Yes, this filter "Trash" is listed under the Group Topic Unsorted with the line DownloadFilter=Trash. I do have several lines in Trash to Reject various Subjects.

If I just enter EXE or .EXE, they just .EXE Files show. If I enter (\.exe)$, then the files disappear until I remove this manual Filter.

Here is a sample listing from the Properties Window. Is this a Subject or a File listing?

I went back to 6.56 and EXEs are also getting through to the Post List.

This isn't what I'm talking about.

Load up the post list. Where it says "Filter Profile" (4th drop down, second line from the left), drop the drop down and select the filter.

(\.avi|\.bat|\.com|\.exe|\.flv|\.html?|\.jpe?g\.mpe?g|\.mov|\.pif|\.scr|\.wmv|\.zip)$

Dex pointed out this filter won't work. Not in "Subjects" mode.

This filter says "match these extensions IF they appear at the absolute end of the line". That's not what you want in a subject filter most of the time extensions are followed by quotes and more text.

Should work for a subject filter.

Yep, this works nicely, even removed the parenthesis and it still works which it should. Tried your new Disable Switch to test and it worked great! Am really glad you implemented the Disable Switch functionality Thanks for straightening me out
