Version 6.60 Beta 5 Available...

We have just made 6.60 Beta 5 available for public testing. It has a ton of fixes. The entire list is on the beta download page.

Some highlights are:

• Added integrity checking of key databases at startup
• Worked on NBRemote interface, it is mostly functional but still has some issues
• Fixed issues with some types of files getting stuck in the download list
• Fixed issues using the $(SUBJECT) path variable
• Changes to keep the download list from stalling the GUI

NOTE: The Download List is incompatible with anything prior to 6.60! We recommend you finish any queued downloads before installing this beta. This applies to the Wish List and Failed Files list too.

Beta 5

After a Header update to all groups - the New Files column does not update in the Groups Tab ie. all remain zero. The cache counter on the bottom tool bar shows 904/1000(0) after the Download list is empty after the header update.

The individual group tabs show the new posts count on each tab.

First time using 6.6, but had another problem similar to the one I posted in V6 Technical Support where files I've posted show complete, blue dot with a P so PARS this time, but opening the set shows 2 incompletes and the icon changes to the yellow exclamation! Did a Show Posts on the group to refresh and it shows complete, open it up and it's incomplete and icon changes. Not sure if it's an upgrade issue from 6.55 b3334 or I have some file corrupt?

Reposting the missing parts has cured the problem as the post is now complete when opening, but will keep my eye on it when I next post something!

I can't find 'Test Download'

"Test Download" is under "Download Special". You can probably generate a shortcut for it too.

I need to writeup again how to make you own shortcuts. Here's how I did it for test.

1 - Click the right most thing on the main toolbar "Add or Remove Buttons". Click the right hand down arrow and select "Customize".

2 - Select the keyboard tab.

3 - Under Category select "Posts"

4 - Under Posts, you can see "Download Special | T" is doesn't show the rest here. It's the top most "Download Special"

5- In Type in a new shortcut key and then select "Assign". I used Ctrl-U.

Now you can select files and Ctrl-U directly to test them.

Yes... I never have gotten sorting working since the re-design. This thinking about it.

I'm not sure what's up with compaction. I was testing it yesterday. It acts like it's working, there are no errors but it's not cleaning out the free blocks.

Thanks - just never expanded download special since I had never used it. What does "Probe Download Files" Do?

It needs to be removed. "Ctrl-R" does it now.

Ctrl-R will probe into the files and try to return information about the contents. It looks in the PARS and the first RAR as well as any NFO or other file types.

Couple things coming up in B6.

- Fixed compaction (think it fixes checking the DB too).
- Worked on Raymarks reported stalling.
- Significant performance improvement when using server priorities.
- Occasional crash during header import. Probably be on IRC on the 25th and maybe in the afternoon here in the forum.

If I use ^P to mark a poster as a spammer the post list is not updated. The name is added to the list and if I reload the posts, all of the posts by that user will be gone, but I should not need to reload.

Are the filters enabled? I'll give it a try here.
