Pro 6.54: Unrar with lots of pictures in rarfiles is broken

It's the same thing again. Mkv files unrar just fine, but pictures take very long to unrar und 100% disk usage with only 600 KB/s writing to disk.

Maybe I'm blind, did not find bug report for this. Sorry in advance.

Doesn't sound like a bug to me.

Are you downloading to a folder that already has a bunch of files in it? If yes, I'd move all the files out of that folder and try again. Are you downloading to a normal internal hard disk.

Also remember there is much more overhead in writing many small files to disk as opposed to one large file. If your disk is the bottleneck then this will be more apparent.

Yeah, sure, but in 6.53 it worked like a charm, now in 6.54 it is broken again for me.

Quade, I went back to 6.53 and everything is fine.

With 6.54 it's is the same problem as I had here.

This went away with 6.53 RC1

- Fixed issue where Newsbin wouldn't assemble after retries expired.
- Fixed issue where PARS wouldn't un-pause when they were supposed to.
- Fixed issue where disabling autopar would still pause par downloads.
- Fixed issue where Unraring image files would totally stall out Newsbin.

Could it be the last thing that causes my problem?

I'm not sure if that was unraring or trying to display the thumbnails. You're complaining about unrar speed not what happens after the unrar.

No, no, I'm not complaining about unrar speed, that is the same for me with 6.54 as with 6.53. Funny fact is, in 6.54 unrar is at 100%, but still writing to disk for long time and it stays in the download window until I don't know what finishes. With 6.53 unrar is at 100% und writing to disk immediatly stops.

I do not use any thumbnails feature. That tab is closed.

Not sure that matters. I'll have to check. All the downloaded filenames have to be fed to the files list DB too. Something is happening post-unrar that takes more time than you like.

I had it in 6.52 final and betas too. With 6.53 rc1 ist was fixed. Maybe this narrows it down? I did not test any 6.54 betas though.
