large rar inside of rar issue

Postby Rasal » Sat Aug 02, 2014 1:37 pm

I have installed the latest version and I now notice that large rar inside of rar is affecting subtitle file downloads. I know I had this set to span filer in the past, and do now, but is size of rar changed? I do want filter to kill very large ones, but in this case they are legit subtitle .sub .idx that normal groups are raring inside of rars. I used to get them in older version no probl me bu newer version will fail legit 17k rar files containing 70k compressed .sub and .idx subtitle sets on "rar inside of rar"

The extracts contain no extras payloads and pass bitdefender but are failed by newsbin

I'm using 6.52 b3289, & I am getting subs OK. I unticked fail zip inside of rar in options/spam filter.
NB still warns about spam & grabs large spam files but subs that are multi-packed are OK.

thanks. I am just wondering what changed. I know I had that ticked because newsbin was definitely failing actual large size rar in rar eg 600mb-5gb files yet up til now (and I want it to fail the very large files), yet was not failing multipack subs. perhaps the size limit was changed?

How big is the subs rar? There haven't been any recent changed, not since 6.52 so, I'm assuming the subs rars have grown in size or something

Rascal,

I can confirm I've experienced this a couple of times too. C'est la vie.
The subs RARs usually have a .idx file then another RAR inside that contains a .sub file, yeah?

It wasn't that there were no other files inside the subs RAR except another RAR?

I always check my "Failed Files" list and put them back into the download list bypassing the filters, so not really an issue for me.

(edit: removed my diagram, didn't show properly)

The issue is the size. If the size has grown, I might need to tweek my code.

1) thanks so much for your attention to this.
2) downloaded file is 16,400 KB. Inside is rar is an idx of 466 KB and another rar of 16,000 KB. Inside of that rar is a .sub of 70,000 KB

3) did you get a chance to look at my separate posting on speed limiter problem?

As always thanks, and I am a paid licensee.
