You're basically driving with one foot on the gas and one foot on the brake. You're using more connections than I do on my 100 Mbps line. Since you only have a 3 Mbps connection you will dominate that connection with 30 connections to the server so, nobody else will be able to use the internet at the same time. If you then try to use the BW limiter you're stepping in the brake when it would actually be more efficient across the board to let off the gas pedal a little. There is zero benefit and numerous downsides to running a bunch of connections on a slow DSL line.
That's above and beyond the limiter thing though. There's no real way for me to know what's going on with your systems. Maybe some security software update is getting in the way of the limiter. If nothing changed and it just stopped working, it suggest some external factor.
I never had a problem with it with those settings before. I had scheduler since it was integrated into your software and an external scheduler that was recommended on this forum before you put one into newsbin.
My habit has been to run scheduler at full speed from 1 am to 7 am, at paused from 7am to 9am and 6pm to 1 am and weekend days (when we might be usingn Netflix), and 1mpbs limited from 9am to 6mp weekdays when I was out but my wife was using the net for work from home
That worked perfectly until a month ago, when all of a sudden any invocation of limiter (manual or through scheduler) at any limiter speed, resulted in zero downloaded while limiter was on.
So I have changed to 1,1,1,1 (ssl as, ssl as eu, ssl as us, and my block) connections last night overnight with limiter set (no use of scheduler) to 2mps and about 10mb downloaded allnight. when I turned off limiter I immediately got 3mps indicated and real. During the day today I set it at 2,2,2,2 and same symptom.
I appreciate you deal with many different configs, user specs, routers, router settings, usnet providers, and antivirus*/firewalls* in users. It is just that I have not changed anything before the onset of this issue.
anyway if you do come up with anything, inducing anything to try and report, please do let me know, this feature was very important to me because of my limited bandwidth.
