Unusual Problem

Upon rebooting my computer yesterday Newsbin (6.21) fails to display anything in the current progress window. In addition The program is now downloading ALL associated par files FIRST, trying to unrar the non existant file, then proceeding with the download. During the download it the reports that the download failed not enought Par files. The only cure for this is to turn off auto par. Any suggestions on why this happened and what I could do to get it to reurn to normal?

Yeah, I don't know. Sounds like something messed up the download list. How much do you have in the download list?

I'm not sure if an upgrade would fix it but, it can't hurt to try.

There is nothing in the download list. I purged everythin including histories. The problem remain - Auto Par will not function properly. Turning off auto unraring will make everything function properly but not if I turn on the Auto unraring switch. I have been using Newsbin through many permutations for years and have never seen this crop up.

I don't know what the problem is from your description. An empty download list won't have any pars to download. If you disable Autopar, it's likely to download all the pars you add to the download list.

If I was you, I'd install a more current version because even if you found a bug, it won't be fixed in an old version
