a.b.hdtv bug?

Postby ddaniel51 » Wed May 21, 2014 1:53 am

hdtv on usenet monster gets close to finishing an intial header down load and then jumps indicating over 2.000.000.000 of headers downloaded and never quits. Have del the group, cleaned the ini, restarted to make sure it was gone and it still does the same thing when put in as a new group.

I was able to download the whole thing from Giganews. What Newsbin version are you using?

I'd be more inclined to blame the server. How about doing a 3 day free giganews trial and try downloading headers from that group? Giganews headers will work on your current server so, you won't actually waste anything.

Thanks, I've had giga before. Will drop a note to usenet in the meantime.

It might be your virus scanner/firewall too. You could try disabling "xfeatures" on that server (server options) and see what happens. It changes the header downloads from binary to text which most V scanners should pass untouched.

Sent usenet a note, they reset the header count and all is working ok.

Thank you
