Autopar doing my head in now!

Postby jukin » Tue May 06, 2014 11:32 am

Ever since the upgrade a few weeks ago I have just about given up with Newsbin out of frustration. Until then, when a compilation was downloaded and unrared, the extracts would normally go into an album name folder (sometimes just in the root folder) of my downloads folder. Since the upgrade, the unrared music files are being extracted to folders named after each artist in the compilation. I've tried making sense of the Help file, the comments here and have tried various extract folder namimg options like $GROUP, $FILENAME etc. but no joy. I am almost at the point where I'm going to ditch Newsbin. Can anyone help please? Thanks.

In the filename options, disable "MP3 Folder Mode". This will disable any special processing for MP3 files. If you use this processing, you're at the mercy of whoever posts and what's in the files. So, sometimes it's better to just disable it and manually send the files where you want.

Hi Quade, thanks for your response. I started by unsetting the MP3 folder mode setting as you advised, that stopped a folder being created for each artist in a compilation and sent everything to my Newsbin download folder. From there I have been playing around with the various string values $SUBJET etc. and have found that this works for me best:

C:\Users\xxx\Downloads\Newsbin\$(SUBJECT)\ as the main download folder.

It's not perfect as I haven't yet figured out how to configure it for concurrent downloads but it is so much better for me. Thank you again Quade, great stuff!!
