6.51 build 3159 unrar password issue

I ran into this issue a few times before.

A passworded rar file is stuck (I use the new {{password}} feature) as if there is no password.

i try to unrar manually via NBP, and I select the right password, but it just fails.

WinRAR works just fine...

This doesn't happen on every file, it seems to be specific to particular RAR types.

How can I diagnose this and help out?

PM me an example with password and I'll try it. That's the only solution, letting me run it under the debugger and see what happens.

On the same topic of password issues I Selected a file for download and was presented the following in the Status tab

Failed Download [PAR Process] Encrypted RAR: Unable to find password: FB05DD0930E1A4EEDAB8BBFF8F2163 Expendable.rar 0%: Completed

As two other files from the same user were ok I bypassed filters, and it happily downloaded and unpacked!

I have not made any changes to the password facilities from default

The answer is always the same. PM me the subject and password and I'll try it. I already fixed oferlaor's issue so, maybe yours is fixed too. Won't know till I get a chance to try it.

Your PM suggests you didn't add a password for this file set. As it's encrypted, you won't be able to use the files unless you can find the password somewhere.

Newsbin doesn't search for passwords. It assumes you know them and have already entered them.

Quade, the issue is 'not' the password, but that it is reporting and failing because it cannot find Password

Right click "download bypass filters", and the file happily downloads as it should. This was one of three files from the same user, the other two downloaded, and there appeared to be no reason this one shouldn't, so I gave it a try.

There was no need for a password, so the observation is that newsbin is incorrectly determining that a password is needed for this file set, and then aborting.

I guess what threw me is that this has nothing to do with the original topic.

The original topic is about having the password and it not being detected properly.
