While it isn't officially supported, we have many users who successfully run NewsBin under Linux with a Windows emulator (Wine is the most popular). This forum exists for you Linux guys to share your experience getting NewsBin running on Linux as well as report any strangeness that we may or may not be able to fix. DThor is the resident expert.

What does this this error message mean?
[02:23:25] ERROR - Server:GigaNewsServer Reports bogus MaxSpool > MaxGroup Numbers :40984581:62279679 - alt.binaries.dvd.midnightmovies
I was guessing some fault at Giganews so I was ignoring them. But then I thought some incompatibility with Linux where I'm running it. Any clues as to where the problem might be?

It's a Giganews bug. We've reported it to them and have heard nothing back.

Just noticed the thread in the version 6 support group. Not sure I understand all the messages but it looks like a Giganews problem. Guess I just keep ignoring them.
