Where do files download when their destination drive fails?

Postby dwilbank » Mon Nov 25, 2013 7:26 pm

Good sirs.

My chosen download drive went offline, but newsbin kept downloading, eating bandwidth, marking files as complete, etc...

When I search (all) my drives with "search everything", I can't find the pieces. I assumed they would end up in my C:\user folder or something.

Where did the data go? - and if i find it, is it possible to recover real files from the downloaded "stuff"?

Thanks

6.42 saved partial files on the download driver. 6.50 saves partial files in memory and in the data folder\chunks folder.

I'd say that in 6.42, they're gone for good. You could look in the default download path which is in your C:\Users\.... Folder. It might fail to the default folder. Downloading to dead drives isn't something I've tested.
