Newsbin crashes while changing server settings

Postby captbaldo » Fri Nov 01, 2013 1:06 pm

I've been using Giganews for a while now, but recently I haven't been happy with there service, so I've also joined Astraweb. I'm using the latest beta of Newsbin release candidate 1. In the server settings, clicking the check box for requires login causes Newsbin to completely crash. This happened while adding Astraweb as a new server. Checked my Giganews settings which have been imported from a very long time ago, whenever I have to do a reinstall.. Anyways, the check box for requires login is obviously checked so I tried to uncheck it and newsbin crashed again. Changing the username or password does not cause the crash. The way I got around this was when setting up Astraweb as a new server I was asked whether I wanted to use the Giganews settings which I said yes to since that checkbox is already checked. Changed the info to Astraweb stuff and everything works, but again if I try to click on the checkbox for either servers the program crashes every time. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing and same thing. Also with compatibility mode. I'm using windows 8.1 pro. Don't know if this is a bug or limited to my machine only but figured I mention it and hopefully it gets fixed. Any info about this is much appreciated. Thanks.

It's fixed in RC2. Thanks for the report.
