Not closing Connections

Hi,

I am using v6.50B16I noticed a new behavior I cannot remember seeing before.

I use NB with Giganews Accelerator and I noticed that NB keeps creating new connections without closing the current one.

I end up after a few hours with 389 connections and GA "Stopped working" message and downloads stop...

I use 4 connections for Giganews.

Newsbin is making connections to the Giganews Accelerator, not to Giganews. The Accelerator must not be closing them or something. I suggest you stop using the Giganews Accelerator, Newsbin now incorporates the main functionality that the Accelerator handles, which is faster header downloads through header compression.

Close the Accelerator and reconfigure Newsbin to go directly to Giganews and you should be fine.
