New posts not showing except after restarting program.

After downloading posts to either individual groups or a single group, new posts do not appear. Posts older than about 12 hours however do appear and only way to correct this seams to be to restart newsbin. Also by redownloading (refreshing) the group does also not cause the new downloads to appear. Is there any alternative method.

When you look down at the status bar, so you see a number in parens next to the "Cache" entry? Is it greater than zero?

That number, 178, represents the number of records still waiting to import. Until that number hits zero, you won't have the most current posts available to examine. Do you see this number going down?

No, it is the same (8:15pm) as it was earlier.

Well, it suggests it's stuck trying to import the files or that you machine is really slow (which I doubt).

Go into the options, then "Open Data Folder". Then close Newsbin. In the data folder, rename the folder "Import" then start Newsbin and try some header downloads.

If they work, you might want to move the files from the renamed "Import" into the new import folder a couple at a time till you find the bad one.

You might want to tell your virus scanner to ignore the data folder too.
