For what it's worth, I have a 64 bit installation of Newsbin Pro 6.50B16 running under Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit using an Intel Q6600, and often watch as Newsbin spends a lot of time (minutes) in the processing of many AutoPAR files. Very often (almost always) if I run QuickPar (Even while Newsbin continues to process the PAR files), with only those files that Newsbin has already downloaded and written to disk, I can either verify that the files are complete and correct, or repair those files, in a matter of only a few seconds. As a result, I've disabled the use of AutoPAR hoping that whatever the problem might be with AutoPAR will be fixed with future updates of Newsbin.
I often find myself wishing that Newsbin could hand off the processing of PAR files to QuickPAR.
I have not yet tried working with a 32 bit installation of Newsbin (Is that what leads to a single core installation?) as my computer has 16 GB of RAM, and I'd rather forgo the use of Newsbin's AutoPar functions than have to work will a lesser amount of RAM.
