Hi, I am having a frustrating problem with files "failing." I am running 6.50 B14 Build 2927 64 bit in a Windows 7 64 bit environment. I have a quad Intel processor and 4GB memory. I'm using astraweb eu and us servers.
So I have had intermittent problems with large files failing. The files are composed of multiple Rars and have Pars and a nfo. The collection of Rars is marginally incomplete as are the Pars. Newsbin's autopar and rar seems unable to associate the Rars with the Pars to auto repair the group. I think this is because the Pars are poorly named and if I que up several of groups of like files all the pars have identical names. (or something deeper is failing I don't know about.) At any event, I would end up with the Rars files sitting in the failed files folder unassembled. And maybe a par or two downloaded. Interestingly I know that the majority of the download succeeds because my chunks folder is fully populated with the files I am trying to download.
My first attempt at a solution was to disable autopar / rar. This ended up with the Rar files sitting in the failed files folder again. I was able to successfully download and repair the files by downloading the files again then watching as newsbin "downloaded" the files again, (downloaded is in quotes as the rate of the download is too fast and it must be verifying the chunks), and waiting to the last second and right clicking assemble incompletes. And holding by breath. If I timed it right then after minutes the assembled files will start appearing in the download folder, if not then its back to the failed folder.
Whats frustrating is that if I can get all the incomplete rars and pars into the download folder Quickpar and WinRAR work like a charm, so its not an issue of insufficient files to complete the whole.
Is there any way to auto assemble the files in the failed folder?
Where I suspect pars may not be well identified is there a way to get Newsbin to mindlessly download regardless if Newsbin thinks there are enough parts?
Or should I uninstall and try the 32bit version?
Thanks for any advice.
