Downloaded & Deleted Entries Reappear

I download a file from the group and it shows downloaded. I then to a Shift Del on the entries in the group and they are deleted. The next day when I get the latest headers for that same group, several of the entries that were Shift Deleted the day before show again in that group. They do show Downloaded. It seems if I Shift Del again, they stay that way from then on.

If any new headers show up for them on a header download, it'll show up again. If you have a header overlap turned on, that might do it too.

Header Overlap is set to 0 (zero) for my server.

I understand a file will reshow if any new parts of it are downloaded.

The issue I am seeing involves downloaded .jpg files. The files download complete and the icon changes to show the file did download. Then I delete the file only to have some of them reshow the next day. The files show as already downloaded. Is it possible to get more sections of a completely downloaded .jpg file that already displays correctly?

What news server are you using? Are you running multiple servers? If you have multiple servers it could be that the file downloaded when headers came down from one server, then the other server was a little slower in propagation and got the headers later and they downloaded again.

Not sure how else this could happen. If you could come up with a specific procedure to make it happen every time we can try to recreate it.

I use secure.usenetserver.com with SSL and that is my only server.

The group displaying the issue is "a.b.pictures.wallpaper". I've been downloading the Houghi jpgs.

1. Download some headers from the group
2. Download some houghi jpgs. A new batch is uploaded daily so download the entire group for that day and make sure NewsBin shows the download and changes the icon.
3. Highlight all the downloaded file entries and then do a Shift Delete.
4. Download new headers for the group tomorrow (needs to be the next day; does not happen if I download headers again on the same day) and see how many headers reappear with the file showing already downloaded.

How can I upload a screen cap of entries that reappeared the next day?

Ok, it seems the files that appear the next day and show downloaded are showing parts missing on the Properties screen for the header. How does a jpg download and display properly have parts missing that show up the next day?????

Well, that would explain it!

I checked the group and some of the posts are odd, they have a 0th part posted. If this shows up later it could be causing the problem but the image will still fully download because there doesn't seem to be any data in the 0th part. Not sure if that's what is going on but that stands out to me.
