Keyboard Shortcuts

Postby GrimerReaper » Fri Aug 02, 2013 11:32 am

I'm hoping someone can tell me what the keyboard shortcut is for accessing the 'find box' (the thin, white text box immediately to the right of the red-and-white 'download the latest group updates' button.)

I've tried looking through the Customize —> Keyboard tab, but obviously couldn't seem to find the shortcut key there, nor any way to assign one manually.

As a btw, when using the 'create nzb from files' option, is there a maximum number of files (or total file size) limit?
Reason I ask is because I created a single nzb file from a collection of 72,000 files (totaling 11.62 TB). The resulting nzb file was just under 1.50 GB, but whenever I tried loading it, Newsbin would just open up a blank tab.
Resorted to splitting the nzb into three separate files with my text editor as a workaround, but would be nice to know what the limit is for future.
Thanks

You might just have to wait. Writing NZB files is easy. Reading them, not so much. I wouldn't be surprised if it takes 20 minutes to load a 1.5 gig NZB File. It depends on your machine though. I can honestly say I've never tried it. If you're doing this from a post list, saving them to a custom list (right click menu) would be more efficient. Custom lists act like groups but, contain any files you want to add to them.

Thanks for the reply.
Must admit that I'd never noticed custom lists before, and wow, that's sure gonna help make things easier now, so many thanks for that!

I'm assuming that from the lack of any posts re the shortcut key, that there simply isn't one? I'd have thought that it would be a fairly easy thing to add (coming from someone with absolutely no experience with programming!!) Is it something you'd be willing to add in a future update? It just seems strange that with such a large list of shortcuts available, something as useful as the find box isn't included?

Although it doesn't really matter anymore (I'll use the custom lists like you suggested), I thought I'd let you know that it doesn't seem to be an issue of time (loading large nzbs that is). I tried waiting - I just left the computer on and came back three or four hours later, but it was still empty. Can't imagine it could take any longer to load than that!

Thanks again for the help!
