Longtime newsbin registered user: your Trial has expired

Postby oolatin79 » Thu Jan 10, 2013 1:19 am

Hi there,

I'm a long time newsbin pro registered user and just started getting "your trial has expired" warnings today. The exact error is as follows:

So I click cancel and go to the Help->register update key menu option (my info is already there since I've registered this installation over a year ago). However, when I force a registration by clicking the "click to finish registration", I get this error:

More info:

Windows 7 x64, Newbin Pro version 6.11 Build 1342

Hopefully you guys have an idea. Thanks for your help.

Use the tech support form and send a request in. We don't handle this in the forum. The form is on the main web page.

Typically its from not cutting and pasting the fields so, one or more characters is wrong.

I didn't cut/paste anything, the key/serial information has been there since I first installed it and registered it over a year ago.

Thanks for your prompt response and info. I'll submit a ticket.

Dexter (@tech support) was able to fix my problem. So it turns out that the first/last name fields are case sensitive, which is weird because It'd never complained about this before. Either way, I changed my first and last name to lowercase and it worked. I didn't change anything in the registration code and left it as it was before in the Newsbin registration window.

Just an FYI for anyone else that runs into this issue all of a sudden.

They've been case sensitive for 10 year or more. That's why we always suggest cut and paste.

Signed on for free trial using a valid current email address. When I purchased my registration key initially a while back it was under a now invalid email address.
When I upgraded to a regular subscription using the old key only the old email address was acknowledged so newsbin pro would nag me to upgrade as with the trial subscription.
How do I change my registration info to include my valid current address?

Email address isn't used for registration. No for a long time now. You can use the support form on the main site to request we update your email address though.

A number of people have multiple keys. When they buy search, they have to use the key associated with search. You can ask about that in the form too.
