Scratched my head raw until I figured this out! New in B8?

Hmmm, ok, something else at play I guess. Went from B7 to B8. Downloading some files and can't find them.

D:\folder\sub was where the files had been going for months, including all the current betas.

Finally found them in D:\folder_sub. The Group List Download Path specifies the correct name, the subtle _ escaped me at first.

Figured spaces were no longer allowed. No big deal so I just moved all the prior stuff into the new folder.

Further, looking now at some other groups in a different GOG, the download path is still D:\folder\sub for each group in that GOG, except for 1. That one group I happened to download some files from tonight. That one group has the \ changed to an _

So doing the download in a group where the path is \path\sub causes a new path to be specified - \path_sub

X:\Download\$(GOG)\

Is my download path, that's where the files land. I don't see any spaces in your path. What you seem to be reporting is that in some cases a \ gets changed to a _. It seems that you're reporting that it's an issue if you have "per group" paths set.

Looks like a straight up bug to me. You threw me off with the spaces thing because, I don't see any spaces in anything you're doing.

Let me restate what I think you're saying:

"In my per group paths, if I have a path with an embedded \ it gets translated into an underscore".

That sound right?

Not sure if this is the right place for this, but I noticed that in the paths if I type in $(variable) the system doesn't recognize it as a variable, but if I click on the variable and click add it recognizes that i have inserted a variable.

This behavior could have something to do with what the other user was seeing.

Duh, my bad - I don't know where spaces got into my brain. So yes, "\" was getting changed to "_".

Tough bug if it is one. I just downloaded a random file from one of the individual groups, as well as loading up the associated GOG and choosing another file from that same group - a group whose path is still \path\sub. It left the "\" alone and put the files in \path\sub.

I'll set things back up the way I had them with the affected groups and pay more attention next time. If I can come up with a scenario I'll chime in.
