Can Newsbin's password manager not handle the tab character?

Postby snes150 » Fri Apr 26, 2013 3:39 am

1) Go into Notepad.
2) Hit the tab key.
3) See that big space it just created? Copy that.
4) Paste that shit into Newsbin.

I've noticed that Newsbin always fails to unrar passworded rars with this tab character in the password. The problem is that a lot of passworded rars utilize this character in their password. So I always have to go and unRAR it manually.

Since I've never heard of such a thing before, I can say with 100% confidence that I've never even tried tabs in passwords. Knowing usenet, though I shouldn't be shocked that people posting, do stupid things like this though.

If you want to PM me an example and a password. I'll make it work. All I need is the subject and maybe the group and I can find it.

What version are you using?

Fixed it. It was handling the tabs properly till it got to the unrar engine. The unrar engine was converting them to spaces.
