6.50B Time

Postby telzy » Mon Apr 01, 2013 11:06 am

I installed the beta on two machines.
1) Win7 Pro 32 bit
2) Win 7 Home Pro 64 bit

Both show GMT, UTC or whatever time, not the local time set in Windows.
I saw this mentioned by someone else in a different thread with no comment.
So here is a new thread.

Not really sure what you're saying. The mechanism for displaying the time hasn't changed.

The time shown in the post date column matches whatever is in the actual post itself(which is UTC, but the hour offset isn't displayed in newsbin). Are you asking to have it adjust to your time zone? I have no idea at all just how much of a hit to processing time that would be to display large lists, but it would be something noticable I suspect. If it was, maybe just displaying the offset is better.

Well something has changed. Going back to 6.42 shows local time in the post list and the download list.
6.50 shows UTC. It was mentioned by someone else in a different thread and not answered.

I originally thought that may be why posts weren't showing up. It has since been mentioned that the
"unsorted" groups aren't being downloaded.

The time is not a big deal but it has changed.
