Sorry, another post about missing "Files List"

Postby Beemer2 » Sun Mar 24, 2013 3:19 pm

For no obvious reason I lost the content of the "Files List". After reading here a recommendation to delete the downloads.db3 file it's rebuild did not include any of my Newsbin downloaded files. I see other DB3 files in the folder and of course Db3 files in the individual group folders but I did not delete these.

I then decided to move the Data folder using the Help instructions to modify the nbi file. All is now well with Newsbin operation of the new Data location and the List file is populating but only with new downloads. As I have a significant amount of already downloaded files I really would like for these to be included.

The path to these "old" files is exactly the path in the NBI but I'm wondering if the individual group DB3 files might have an older path which is preventing the files being reintroduced into the new downloads.db3.

Maybe I'm interpreting the problem incorrectly and hope that someone will advise a solution.

Deleting the downloads.db3 file wiped all memory in the files list so, only newly downloaded files will appear in the list.

The files are still on your hard disk. You don't really need the files list to access them.

Quade,

Thanks for your reply. New downloaded files are now populating the Files List. I'm curious why the new downloads.db3 file (the only one in my five drives) is completely empty when viewed in SQLite Database browser? So also empty is the downloaded.db3 file. SQLite does show content in all the other DB3 files.

I believe it is normal for the downloads.db3 file to be empty if you have nothing currently queued for download

Yeah, downloads.db3 is the download list. Downloaded.db3 is the files list.

I understood that the "Files List" was kept in the Downloads.db3 file. If correct then surely SQLite would see some content?

I just tried to view Downloaded.db3 using SQLite browser and got the message "this file is not an SQLite 3 database". I don't get this message with Downloads.db3

Might want to upgrade your SQlite tool.
