mark posts old doesn't always work

Postby stalmage » Tue Feb 19, 2013 5:53 pm

I have a very odd problem with marking posts old. I have a group of groups and after reading/downloading the articles I want, I select everything (Ctrl-A) and hit the "Del" key. (I've also tried right clicking and explicitly selecting "mark posts old".) However, the next time I double click on the group of groups to load new headers, an assortment of posts I've previously marked as read are showing up as new. This happens with both recent headers (i.e., posts during the last few days) as well as posts going back as far as 2010! Note that *most* of the posts I marked as old don't show up in the list the second time around--just some of them (about a dozen).

I went so far as to completely delete the database folder and redownload all headers in the group of groups, but I still see the same behavior.

Any ideas?

In the server options, set the overlap to 10 then try again. I have a feeling overlapping the header download a little is giving you "new" posts.
