Upgrading to 64 bit

Postby mimauk » Mon Feb 18, 2013 4:05 pm

I'm going to be upgrading my OS from vista 32 bit to Win7 Pro 64 bit this week with a new install from scratch. So I'll be upgrading NBpro to 64 bit from 32 bit.

Question - can I make a copy of all my old 32 bit config files and just overwrite the new 64 bit files? eg - nbi. file and db3 files and spool VI files.

Also I've been looking through the forum topics and faq but can't find the link to the topic which tells which files to copy from the old install.

Newsbin uses the same files, 32 or 64 bit. In testing, I run them back to back. You just need to make a copy of all the files if you're going to wipe you hard disk with the new install.

I upgraded to 64 bit with no problems and it makes a hell of a difference. A lot smoother performance and I can shut group tabs straight away without NBPro crashing. :D

I've gained a few colours on the GUI as well -before I just had 50 shades of grey. :D
