v6 header download error message

Postby my_nb_acct » Tue Feb 05, 2013 11:01 pm

Just upgraded 5.55 to the just-released 6.42 production release.
Did the import for the groups.
Got an error on header download:
Server Reports bogus MaxGroup > MinSpool Groups
Forum showed two posts - tried the suggestion of of Post Storage - Use Download Age and got a popup Do You really want to reset...
Cancelled out.
5.55 was working until the renumbering thing I already posted about.
Where to from here?

Second: Did I miss a prompt somewhere about what directory to install v6 into? It went into my old v5 directory.

Set a download age of 10, then right click "Post Storage/Use Download age" then update the group.

Highwinds changed their header server so, you have to reset Newsbin to the new record ranges.

Did it - some groups around 10 days, some different, on one the oldest was 1698 days.
No error though.
Thanks.

And as to my second question? I'd hoped for a clean install of 6 that remembered previous settings and d/l files, with the possibility of keeping 5 until I get used to 6. Also, I still have pieces of 4, I think, that I don't know if they're still in use, referenced somewhere, or whatever. Is there a list showing what goes with what anywhere?

Spool_v6 is for V6. Any other spool can be deleted.

Signature.db3 is still used.

I don't think there's an official list.

The DB3 files are all still used.
