i have version 6.4 build 2059 but with some groups i get no listings but when i go into live mail and look up the same groups i get a list of whats in that group. didn't have any problems before when using xp but in windows 7 no listings.

Have you downloaded headers? Do they actually download?

A huge gotcha in moving from XP to win 7 is permissions, with UAC you need to make sure your data files, including spools, are in a user writable location. If you installed cleanly on win7 and used the defaults, you'd be fine, but if you simply copied everything over there's a solid chance that could be your problem.
