Downloads to folder with subject name

Postby chrys7 » Mon Dec 17, 2012 2:27 am

Since moving to the latest version all downloads are no longer going to a folder with the subject name. There use to be a option to check or uncheck and I cannot seem to find it in the new version. CAn someone tell me how to get this function back or at least tell me if i am doing something wrong.

Yeah, the docs need some updating here - all the custom download path stuff has been consolidated into one paradigm instead of being scattered across various parts of options depending on if you were using group names, filenames, nzb names, etc. In your standard options page where you configure download path, select the main download area using the browse button, close it, then hit the edit button. This let's you build folder paths depending on what you download, you'll want to add the subject variable. If a variable doesn't apply(e. g. you're downloading from headers but there's an nzbfilename in there), it's just ignored. This whole process can be customized per group if you wish by right clicking over it(or a group of groups) and selecting properties.

In theory the basic path stuff like you want should have automatically updated to the new method during an upgrade, but it seems it doesn't always work, probably based from the version you came from.

I'm not trying to be a critic, but my observations so far of 6.41B4, it doesn't do what I think it should do ............it's not an upgrade, it's just an aggravation..........

I think I will be sticking to 5.59 until you guys can convince me there is a real need to do something different.

The new pathing mechanism has been documented here.

No convincing is necessary. We want you to use any version that makes you happy. It's no skin off our nose either way. I can't imaging going back to 5.59 but, we all have different ways of doing things.

Thanks that fixed it! Other than figuring out this subject issue I like it.
