Strange behaviour with incomplete files

Postby re838uk » Thu Oct 18, 2012 9:37 am

With a few of the newly posted materials, I've noticed that some have incomplete parts, often quite a lot, more than what the available par files can repair. But despite some blocks with blacked out indicators and both nzbindex and binsearch showing that they have missing parts, if I do a par check, it lists all rar files as fine and complete and a manual unrar extracts without any issues.

Has this occured with anyone else?

That's pretty bizarre. Are the missing chunks at the end of the file?

The whole progress bar shows the black portion at the end, but I don't know if it's meant to be like that for all files with some incomplete segments.
With the expanded view, the majority of complete blocks for the incomplete rars are in the middle area.
I'll PM the details of such a file.
