Whenever I download a rar along with its associated nfo, sfv, etc files, Newsbin also downloads all the pars associated with it regardless if it needs pars to repair (from now on referred to as test A). If I just download the rar file, without the associated nfo, sfv files, the program correctly pauses the par downloads (from now on referred to as test B). If I expand the rar tab in the Downloading Files tab, test A displays all the pars as status Idle. In test B the pars have a status of Paused.
I've tried downloading this via headers and nzb and they produce the same result, either test A or test B.
Is there any way to have test A not download the pars if it doesn't need them for repair? I've been doing test A in the past with older versions of Newsbin without an issue.
I'm using Newsbin 6.40 which is a fresh install of Newsbin (uninstalled the previous version which included saying yes to wiping out all previous data and configuration) on Windows 8. My provider is Giganews. I moved over to Windows 8 at the same time I upgraded to 6.40 so I'm not sure if this problem would occur with Windows 7.
