Unable to download new headers after upgrading to 6.40

Postby doc4 » Fri Oct 05, 2012 7:57 am

Hi.
After upgrading from 6.34 to 6.40, I was no longeer able to download headers from
europe.isp.giganews (via news.altibox.net).
Downloading content was fine - using previous header list

Reinstalling 6.34 made me again download headers.

Windows 7 / 64 bit

Bug?

There is no bug that I have heard off in this area?

What error messages appear in the logging tab when you try? That may give an indication of why you have problems.

OK.
As 6.34 works fine I will stick to that for a while before attempting a new upgrade, so I don't remember the error message - only the symptoms: The header list reported 0/0 but was hanging. Tried of course several groups - all with the same result. After downgrading, the same header list reported lots of new posts.

Since you're the only one reporting it so far, odds are it's something local, but if you just fall back it's unlikely to fix itself and you're stuck on that version with a program that is constantly being updated. Up to you, though. I like to blame antivirus - they constantly update and sometimes a program update is just like a new program to them.
