Random BSOD with 6.40 Build 2057

Postby Pathfinder_306 » Thu Sep 27, 2012 10:46 pm

Hello,

Have been having an occasional Blue Screen of Death with Ver 6.40 for the last few weeks.

Don't remember which version it started at as I did not associate it with Newsbin at first.

I am running Windows XP sp3. AMD FM1 cpu with 4gig of ram. It has happened 4 times
in the last two days. Once after I had gone to bed, twice when I closed NB, and this last
time when I had it start to list headers in a group.

BSOD is saying: Stop: 0x0000008E (0xc0000005, 0x8053ft4e, 0xaa922a2c, 0x00000000).

I've run check disk on all drives and found no problems, checked the registry, and at least for me all
the other usual suspects.

Everything else with Nb and the computer seem to be working very well.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

You error code suggests a bad stick of RAM.

More info. For XP to crash, there has to be a driver or hardware problem. COuld be that Newsbin is using more RAM than most of your programs so, it runs into the bad RAM.
